We are thrilled to present two trainings on Facilitation, Engagement, and Collaboration in Environmental Conflicts in 2026: Portland, Oregon (March) and Boulder, Colorado (Spring 2026 - Dates Coming Soon).
CDR’s Facilitation, Engagement, and Collaboration in Environmental Conflicts (FEC) training offers practitioners a unique opportunity to enhance their professional skills relating to work in land use, disaster resilience, transportation & mobility, and water resources. Participants will:
- LEARN: Equip yourself with the tools to intervene, facilitate collaboration, and build relationships to stimulate change
- APPLY: Sharpen your facilitation and engagement skills through hands-on activities that mirror real-world challenges
- ENGAGE: Dive into purposeful dialogue, inspire new ideas, and co-create solutions to today’s challenges
- NETWORK: Connect with other professionals and create connections with practitioners and thought leaders
What to Expect:
The in-person, interactive FEC training will equip participants with practical strategies and tools for facilitating complex discussions related to the significant issues of the present day including: climate change and community resilience, wildlife conservation, transportation infrastructure, water allocation, and beyond. Participants will practice a range of skills, including:
- Facilitation Techniques: Learn proven methods for guiding discussions, fostering collaboration, and ensuring all voices are heard
- Coalition-Building Strategies: Learn foundational skills to convene, build, and lead coalitions to increase impact and effect change
- Best Practices in Inclusive and Innovative Engagement: Gain insights into purposeful partner engagement, inclusive dialogue, and decision-making frameworks
- Conflict Resolution Approaches: Explore conflict resolution strategies that help navigate tensions to achieve collaboration and consensus
